J. Gruber Health Solutions & Treatment Questions

J. Gruber Health Solutions is a specialty practice. Dr. James Gruber is board certified in Regenerative Medicine unlike most standard physicians. Dr. Gruber’s expertise in BHRT and Regenerative Medicine allows him to devise the best individualized treatment plan to optimize your health and well-being.
We offer many of the recommended supplements at J. Gruber Health Solutions, often at discounted prices. Prescription medications can often be filled at local pharmacies or through our recommended compounding pharmacies who ship directly to you.
Your health insurance can be thought of as “disease insurance,” not disease-prevention insurance. J. Gruber Health Solutions is not insurance-based. Our services are generally not covered by medical insurance. Lab tests, however, are often covered by your insurance. If you have an HSA account, some expenses incurred may be reimbursable. We can provide you with an invoice of services provided for you to submit to your insurance provider. Any costs that are covered by your insurance company will be determined by your insurance provider.
The initial appointment is a comprehensive, in-depth appointment with Dr. Gruber. This appointment consists of a complete physical, a review of your lab results, a detailed discussion regarding your health history and a comprehensive discussion of your ideal health goals. At this appointment recommendations will be made regarding hormones, nutraceutical supplements, nutrition, exercise and stress management. We are also available to address any concerns you may have as well as answer any of your billing related questions.
Send us a message or call us at 303-746-1964.

The first step is to get scheduled for baseline labs and salivary testing. We will also request you fill out a comprehensive questionnaire designed to obtain key health information vital to Dr. Gruber as he designs your individualized treatment plan. After we receive your lab tests you will schedule an evaluation appointment with Dr. Gruber.

Hormone Health & BHRT Questions

When we talk about bio-identical hormones it means we are replacing the hormones in your body molecule for molecule with hormones as identical as possible to hormones that your body is missing.
The Women’s Health Initiative Study showed that traditional HRT (not bio-identical, or BHRT) with synthetic estrogen and progestin (non-bio-identical estrogen and progesterone) may not be safe as these hormones can potentially cause increased risk of breast cancer, blood clots and cardiovascular disease. However, BHRT is very safe when administered by an experienced professional, and when hormones are prescribed in the correct form and dosage and closely monitored.

BHRT has been used in Europe for over 60 years without increased risk of breast cancer or cardiovascular events. In addition, there is typically weight loss with BHRT as well as reported overall improved well-being and quality of life.
Bio-identical hormones have the same molecular structure as hormones produced in the body, and thus have relatively few side effects. When using BHRT we are not introducing any new foreign substances to the body. We are regulating what is supposed to be there naturally. If side effects occur, they are largely tied to dosing issues. At J. Gruber Health Solutions, we closely monitor and evaluate each patient to ensure correct doses for proper balancing.
Estrogen and progesterone are commonly thought of as the most important hormones for ideal health in women. Although women require lower doses of testosterone than men, it is an equally important sex hormone for women. Restoring testosterone to optimal levels in women increases libido, strength, muscle, bone density and overall well-being.
By keeping your hormones balanced, BHRT will allow you to optimize the way you feel and look for your age. Once you stop utilizing BHRT, hormone levels quickly revert to their pre-treatment state and all benefits will quickly disappear. Many people who utilize BHRT choose to stay on the supplements indefinitely.

Anti-Aging (Age Management) Questions

Regenerative medicine is also known as anti-aging medicine. As we age many aspects of our health decline due to the degenerative processes. These aspects can include weight gain, decreased energy, impaired sexual function, higher risk of heart disease, decreasing mental capacity, as well as loss of muscle and bone mass.

Recent scientific advancements of early detection and prevention now allow us to slow and sometimes reverse the natural course of aging, and to function and feel better. This new field of medicine takes an aggressive, preventative approach to reverse and/or minimize the impacts of aging.

Benefits can include:

  • Increased energy
  • Improved libido and sexual function
  • Lower risk of heart disease
  • Healthier immune system – (less risk of developing cancer as well as various infections)
  • Sharper mental function
  • More ideal body composition with less body fat and more lean muscle mass
There is no magic pill or medical shot that will stop or reverse the aging process. At J. Gruber Health Solutions we focus on developing a proactive individualized treatment plan for each of our patients. We conduct an extensive initial evaluation and provide comprehensive lab testing. Based on the evaluation and lab results coupled with information we obtain from a detailed medical history you provide, we develop a treatment plan that will meet your needs and improve your health.

This treatment plan may include improvements regarding nutrition guidelines and exercise plans and/or stress reduction. We frequently employ nutraceutical supplements to assist with various health issues identified. For many patients, bio-identical hormone replacement therapy is indicated to achieve specific healing related goals. For some patients with very specific needs, the use of neurotransmitter testing and balancing is also beneficial.
There is no specific age for beginning our program but rather, it depends on the way in which your body is currently functioning and how you are/have been feeling. For women the body can begin to feel differently up to 10 years or more than it has in the past before the onset of menopause. Often for men, health issues begin to develop around the age of 40. As we all know, health issues can occur at any age.
A successful Regenerative Health & Nutrition program requires a medical professional trained in this discipline. Cutting-edge diagnostic testing can often predict disease processes years before they begin to manifest. Customized programs in Regenerative Health & Nutrition likely include vitamins, nutraceuticals and/or, the need for hormone re-balancing prescribed and supervised by a board certified health professional.
